Enrolment: **AST 1** is delivered by **licensed third-party AST providers**, not booked centrally with Avalanche Canada. Minimum **two days** with online/classroom plus field components; everyone travelling in a backcountry group should start here. Download the student release from Avalanche Canada if your provider requests it; choose only providers displaying the licensed AST branding or listed in the provider directory.
