Where can you teach with BASI Level 3 (ISIA)?

United Kingdom

No work permit required for UK nationals in UK.

Switzerland
  • Cantonal work permit required

EU/EEA passport holders: work permit obtainable via employer. Non-EU/EEA nationals: quota-based work permit required.

France
  • Must apply for 'carte professionnelle d'éducateur sportif' via the DRJSCS
  • EU Directive 2005/36/EC recognition pathway applies
  • ISIA Stamp (Level 3) is the minimum for equivalency recognition

EU/EEA nationals: can apply under EU professional qualifications directive. Non-EU nationals: require valid work visa in addition to qualification recognition — significantly harder to arrange.

Austria
  • Must apply for recognition under EU Directive 2005/36/EC
  • Requirements vary by Bundesland (Tirol, Salzburg, Vorarlberg, Styria, Carinthia)
  • ISIA Stamp (Level 3) is typically the minimum accepted
